Beyonce' Wins Copyright Infringement Jennifer Armour lost a copyright infringement suit to Beyonce Knowles for the 2003 Billboard hit, "Baby Boy". Armour claims that she sent a demo of the song to Matthew Knowles for consideration and the music was used without her permission. The judge ruled in Beyonce's favor saying there was no evidence to suggest that Beyonce copied the music. ***NOTE TO ARTISTS - please stop sending your demos to record companies and signed artists that have more money than you and are in need of hits. If you haven't noticed, the playing fields are leveled like never before and signed artists will grip your stuff and pay the fee...as long as they make a hit at the end of the day, who care about little unknown you. The best protection is to copyright everything before you put it on the web because its about to get real desperate out here.
