I like the use of Gil Scot-Heron lyrics.

Why did you pick Gil Scot-Heron's lyrics for this story?

i am inspired by Gil. When I think of the artist that my "inner artist" identifies with it's always Gil. My dad played Gil in the house on a regular. If i had a soundtrack of my life it would feature Gil. The way he poured himself in the microphone- i hope to be as bold one day.
This whole story actually took place for real. Sometimes I turn on "my internal Ipod" as a form of escapism when I cant write. i dunno. i would love to take credit for the inspiration to put "A Sign of The Ages" in this story, but I cant it popped in my head as I was working and it wrote itself.
The words to the song are so dismal, incapable of optimism and hope. So are some of the people I counsel. Luckily Gil wrote it so I could be his co-author.
cheers I did a collabo with Gil Scott Heron! my dad would be proud!
