how many of you "hang on in there" either out of fear, pressure from others, or stubborness?

i want to make SO many changes in my life, but people keep telling me that now is not the time. to hang on in there. but if history (whether it be my past or through studying others) has taught me one thing - it taught me that i have to make it the time. nothing would have changed, or gotten better if i didn't make the 1st step. i think it's time for me to take another step out on that limb. i'm gonna talk it over with folks and see what can be done...

I got this email last week:

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

True, sometimes you need to step out on a limb in order to gain, but sometimes if that limb breaks, you end up worse than you were before.

One of the first things I ask myself when considering a risk is whether I'd be able to handle the worst possible outcome. It's important not to underestimate the chances of failure because you're eager for success and it's important not to underestimate the chances of success because you're afraid of failure.

It sounds like you may be talking about job stuff. If so, now really is the time to be cautious. It is hard to find work and it is still getting harder.

Powerful post.

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.'

I am a fan of making it the time. The naysayers usually have no experience in taking risks. They love you and want what they believe the best is for you and your family...but in the end you have to find out some day for yourself.

However when you have a family - you do have to be more considerate of timing. But if you have faith...and people around you that have your back...sky is the limit

you ain't never lie. since the new year getting up for work each day has been a struggle. i mean a serious struggle. every day i want to call out, but i know that if i do, when i go back, the work will just be doubled and my client's will get on my nerves even more.

some of my clients and co-workers i truely love working with. i learn a lot, it's a different atmosphere and the work culture is pretty diverse. but i feel stifled. i'm tired of solving my client's problems everyday. it drains me mentally like the boys and girls club drained me emotionally. and it doesn't help that my clients are some of the nastiest unappreciative people i have ever dealt with. the few great clients that are sprinkled in here and there make my day only a little better.

when i go away, i plan to recharge. then i will decide if it's a good idea financially to leave, or mentally to stay.
