PostSubject: New Year's Party - Heeey   Mon Jan 05, 2009 12:11 pm

Had my first New Year's party - and it was fun. Going to make it an annual thing. I was very last minute but it pulled off very well...bout 20 people came through...we did the soul train line, cyphered till about 3 in the morning, ate REAL good...food was in abundance (thanks to Rahnda, Sylvia and my Dad)

last person left at 6am

be back with more + pics (later in the week)

**I was glad that I brought it in doing something new, something different.

One of the highlights of the evening was Ra (the One Sun Lion) locked his keys in his car. Somebody there had AAA (Burrell)...so they called them...he meets up with the AAA guy to unlock the car...How about they unlock the wrong car and the car alarm goes off...he tells the AAA, "that's not my car" so they find his car and open that one...he came back to the party and cyphered about it.

I wish I could have danced more...but I did attempt breakdancing, lol.
Which reminds me...I want to learn it. I saw some kids in the subway doing it and I really like how the movements laugh at gravity...Anybody know if somebody teaches it?

This year is all about doing new things, taking more risks towards manifesting my goals (living more fearlessly), and (recognizing and) letting go of baggage.

I want to enjoy life, and live more fully, and shake up my routine to see life from a different angle.

Having my first New Year's party showed me some of the possibilities of doing these things

Sounds like it was a good time. Ra is fun to cypher with.

I don't know anybody that teaches breaking, but if you hang out at the parties they go to, you could get them to teach you some stuff. When it's warm out, Repstyles Crew performs in Rittenhouse Square a lot. They're easy to talk to and I think some of them have teaching experience

Thanks - I really want to learn. It looks like magic...I wonder if they realize how amazing that is...especially when they do those moves where they are suspended in the air...

maybe you can find a dvd for it. i know i've learned alot of things by buying dvds. i had a tap one, a drum one, if you are gonna stick with it it might be helpful. It's also good for moving on your own pace.
