The photo shoot was a success. I counted over 30 open-mic hosts in attendance...might be close to 40.

There was so much love in the air...

The rain stopped just enough for to take some photos

Freedom Theater was SO cooperative and flexible.

I am looking forward to this coming out in print and web.

Thanks to Alyson, Sharvon, Adrian, Glory, KD, and Reuben!

Meanwhile, tweaking the layout for phillycypher.com

I got inspired and I want to open it up to the boards. I'm going to take on the challenge of New Thing ____day ( <-insert your day of the week here, New Thing Tuesdays, etc.). This is where we do something new (go some place different, do something different, dress different, eat different OR whatever - just different from your normal routine, behavior, choices.

today i resigned from my job to leap in the unknown. i don't have another job lined up, but i do have some 'if shit goes bad, i can_____' places to fall back on. i did it this way for a couple of reasons, but the main reason was to make sure i tried my VERY best to succeed. sink or swim baby.

I still put me first - in a common sense way, but I find myself welcoming these opportunities to give, share, step aside, help. Also opportunities to see how I can improve, or what was my role, analyzing and admitting my faults.

Recently, I outgrew a grudge I was determined to hold onto, but I let it go because I saw a mirror reflection. The ...

Ever take a moment to reflect on how blessed you really are?

I mean in this time of economic uncertainty, for some, it's definitely easy to forget your spirituality, overall mental/emotional balance, and just all around blessing counting.

My and I have been reflecting alot lately, yet I find myself slipping into distress sometimes. It balks me at times the amount of money it takes to run our small household. We have to budget in for gas...for both cars, for baby needs, ...

My computer crashed (thank you Mercury Retrograde)...its time for an upgrade anyway. I should be angry, worried, or something, but I'm learning not to expect too much from technology over the long-term.

So, I have this crazy random entry to summarize things since i've been away from the boards (I want to post in different sections, but this diary entry will have to do).

On Thursday, I was texting someone and was so into the text that I got on the wrong train. By the time ...

One of my favorite books of all time is Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. I love it because there is so much psychology in it. From my memory, I remember a part in the beginning where a young man has a dream that he is with his deceased grandfather. The grandfather gives him an envelope and tells him to open it. He said the young man's scholarship award was in the envelope. So the young man opens the envelope, only to find another smaller one, and inside that another smaller ...
