As of today (September 8, 2009) I am no longer the Executive Editor of Music at BET.com.

Upon entering the position at BET I said that I needed one year to see what really went on inside the belly of the beast. I needed 365 days to sleep with the enemy and infiltrate the system. One year to see if they REALLY wanted change at BET.

As someone who has been critical of BET for many years, it surprised ...

I have been told that I am passive aggressive. I looked up the definition and it doesn't match the description people have when they tell me that....They usually say it when I ask / say something indirect to cause a direct action.
I have been told that cash shows that you "put no thought into the gift". However, what if you just don't know what the person wants or you may not be able to get to registry store in time for the event (ex: bridal showers).

I don't mind cash and I'm just asking - is it a lazy gift?

Does it depend on the person?

When it comes to weddings, usually the couple will need money after allthe money they spent on the wedding, right?

I should also mention that I may ...

Levey is part of the "gayby boom" generation. The 29-year-old management consultant is the son of a lesbian couple who chose to have a child through artificial insemination. He's their only child.

So far as I can tell, we don't have a President thread, so here it is.

But this post ain't about Obama, it's about Alphacat. I been seeing his YouTube clips for months now, and I just wanted to share him with y'all in case you haven't seen him. Best Obama impressionist ever. Somebody needs to give this boy a paycheck.

He's into music videos now. If you missed Obama's State of the Union address, you can catch up with this clip right here:

A couple in Chicago decides to make all this year's purchases with Black-owned businesses all year long. This is a study run by a non-profit they started. They say that over $80 of every $100 that comes into black communities gets spent right back out of it. They plan to get people to join them to make the same pledge, and they hope to see how their actions affect the economy. The most telling part of their experiment so far is how ...

So I went to see this movie with some friends this weekend and I think I might have been a bit of an ass. There were people all over crying in the movie theater at the same time.
Was it too easy?

Do you think it was all too easy? I mean was there really competition on Nov 4th? An old white repub and a goofy female VS a confident, intelligent handsome black male?

Is this really a new america or is there a hidden agenda?

Is it okay to be drunken with pride and the "we have overcome" feeling right now at history in the making...or should we be suspicious?

Your thoughts?
