i don't know if i spelled it right. but this is what i've heard about it before:

Many new age spiritualists and philosophers ("new-agers") believe humankind will enter an age of enlightenment in 2012. There are a range of varying, generally positive, beliefs shared by a subset of spiritualists from the mundane to exceptional -- including a positive social shift and age of peace, mankind becoming psychic and connected by a collective, and/or an evolution of the human race into non-corporeal beings made of "spiritual" energy, or light energy. An alternative view is that we are already thought-forms (see also idealism) and will be realizing our true selves in this year.

Sway..That's the first time I heard that theory actually. I'm still doing research, but what I've heard more commonly is that 2012 is the end of an era / beginning of a new one. The Mayan calendars, and some other calendar they go every 2,500 years per era, they stop at 2012. The earth is also said to also be impacted by it (the galaxy, the universe, alignment in the solar system, major shifts, wobbles).

Some say saviors emerge at the beginning of each new era. Maybe this connects with yours Sway?

ALSO - I've heard that we are currently in the Age of Pisces - and 2012 would be the start of a new age... the Age of Aquarius (the water bearer)....something like that.

They have a lot of new books out on it, but I don't know if I really want to know...I might have more peace in my ignorance.

WHo knows...maybe it could all be like the Y2K scare - and just be notihing...or maybe it might really be serious? With the changes coming to America (possibly about to have a our first Black president, the dollar value nosediving, plans for the V-Chip, the North American Union... its clear that some type of major change is on the horizon. I just never thought I would be here to see it. I thought it would be my children's children's time...)

THEY HAD A SPECIAL ABOUT THIS THIS PAST WEEKEND ON EITHER THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL OR THE HISTORY CHANNEL. THE MAYANS AND ANOTHER CIVILIZATION HAD THE SAME CALENDAR. I TRIED NOT TO WATCH IT...(SORRY FOR THE ALL CAPS BUT I'M LAZY...)
