Shyst your last point reminded me of Free. Sometimes we would go out and she would just grab her book and say 'tonight I don't feel like being a performer. I'm just here to share.' Then she'd read from her book like a novice. And no I don't mean she'd read from her book like Alyson and Glory etc. I mean she'd read like somebody who was at an open mic for the first time. It took me a long time to realize that sometimes going to a venue for something other than business was okay and that it wouldn't compromise my artistic integrity. You are freed in a sense when you determine when and why you go to the venues instead of your manager, your publicist, your marketing team, your prestige or your pockets. I just recently had a convo w/Astr8 and Glory about stepping outside the box. I refuse to be confind to one any longer. Not even bringing the bats when I come back. I passed them on to . I think the whole experience of pregnancy made me able to step beyond the veil and be a little more vulnerable with my writting. Hell I had to allow things to be done for me. It pushed me into desiring to share and reach for a new level. Alyson I'm gonna see how many days I have left and if can go in early the day of the Q.
