| I am writing this letter to myself to remind my ever humble self that there is nothing wrong with believing that I am the sugar honey iced tea sometimes. Sometimes. Artistically, I believe that my gift is limitless as long as The Lord continues to bless me with words. I don't go around trying to think of concepts, poems, stories or the like. God has allowed me, this vessell to carry thoughts, to paper, to words, to the stage- all courtesy of Him. As I embark on the creative path of "REAL RADIO 2!" I remember lessons from "REAL RADIO 1!" I was nervous. A little bit of nervousness, i found, is good. I tested the limits, put my artistic toe on the line in the sand and crossed it! this time i'm stepping of the edge of the cliff with it! no holding back! i will not allow naysayers to throw a monkey wrench in to the calm lake of my psyche, summoning ripples of discord, doubt, uncertainty and fear to hinder or disract me from my mission. now, it's time to artistically masturbate. (you know- Feel myself.) im ten years deep on the scene. when i first walked up, signed the list and read my piece off of paper I got a standing ovation. nobody knew how afraid i was. six weeks later I was hosting the venue. radio, television, opening acts for too many established entertainers to namedrop, one feature movie that led me to a current larger role in a second movie (ive been asked to do some writing for this 1) a published column in print (thanks tizzy!) and on line. but my first cd, REAL RADIO 1 challenges me to do the sequel THREE TIMES BETTER! i will. cause NOBODY IS SMURFIN' WIT ME! my lyrical strong arm career is longer than satchell paiges'! _________________ "Ize married now!"- Mrs. Kisha Gaymon - original version by Suge Avery

| Dear Sam, I'm looking forward to Real Radio 2!!! I appreciate your work and specifically the depth of your writing. Its the kind of stuff that sucka punches the mind. Your one of the poets that inspires others to want to go home and write - so we need that. So do the youth and so do the grown folks. You're a dope writer and poet that has his mind right My favorite piece so far was about the domestic violence, view from the womb. Cheers

| Questions for ya: How would you describe the differences between 1 and 2? Are there any collaborations? What did you learn with the last project that you will apply with this one? When is it coming out? Why is it called REAL RADIO? |

| I'm also a big fan of Womb Window. I love the way the recorded version came off. I can't wait for the next cd. |

| [quote="Tizzy Lizz^"]Questions for ya: How would you describe the differences between 1 and 2? I think that the biggest difference between REAL RADIO & REAL RADIO 2 is the mindset I was in when I penned the pieces I selected to use. The stuff on REAL RADIO (Fool 4 Love, Bic Betta Have My Verses, A Beautiful Mind, ect.) was the type of pieces people consider vintage Sam I Am. On REAL RADIO 2 I was in a very different life place. My perspective zoomed in from wide angle to ground zero. And I wrote from that place. Are there any collaborations? Mos definitely look out for the collaborations! REAL RADIO! would not have been the project I envisioned without the artists who helped out. What was special was that their contributions gave the CD a flavor that was more than jus mine. All I did was give them a sense of direction and my fam the producer, Maxx Steel turned them loose in the booth! Nothing was really scripted verbatim. Maxx Steel, Kisha, Shyster, Q45, K.O.P., Wildflower, Queen Shakirah, Renata- they made me laugh, cry, angry and shake my head like WTF I love them for that! So, look for more collabos with folks who don't even know I need them for REAL RADIO 2! Good things can happen when you're willing to share with people. And Maxx Steel is a genius! What did you learn with the last project that you will apply with this one? I learned that I am more than jus a poet. Artistically I am the culmination of everything I saw, shared or experienced. There are those who believe themselves to be purist of this spoken word art form. Verbal watchdogs of it's borders if you will, and criticize those who step outside the box with their art. SMURF THE BOX! On REAL RADIO 1! there's something for everybody. Comedy, singing, poetry, hip hop, conversation, pertinent social commentary and dialogue. I used about four different voices to create characters and on REAL RADIO 2! one of these created characters (a broke guy named Change) is going to do his own poem! This time I'm changin' lanes without concern for safety on the road! I want to make a classic. Something representative of the talent here in Philly! When is it coming out? I dunno. Probably around Thanksgiving but hopefully early November. Folks who supported me and purchased the first REAL RADIO! are taking it super personal about me and Maxx taking so long to put out REAL RADIO 2! For the record, it's not Maxx's fault. My biggst criticism of myself is that I'm writing too many things at the same time. two books, another play and a proposal for a city inservice for mental health care workers. "Gitcha Mind Right" the novel is done. Jus a matter of some editing. it's a blessing and a curse. Why is it called REAL RADIO? [ I named the project REAL RADIO! because I was riding in the car with my children and the radio was hyping the same rush hour garbage people have grown to accept nowadays. After flipping the stations and finding junk on every channel I turned it off altogether and said disgustingly, "This city needs some real radio, I'm tellin' you!" The rest is history.... and on sale for $8..... /quote] _________________ "Ize married now!"- Mrs. Kisha Gaymon - original version by Suge Avery
