in this theatre of war; it’s gotta be hard fought..
it's an array of endless battles
battling losses to win over a win for ourselves..
for our families; but it’s still theatre
on stage, the rage; short of any righteous showmanship
too often the right men...women; not showing up
the ones that do
they arrive & depart without clues; so this war...these battles
they’re fought clueless; nonetheless we act out
fathers... mothers acting as trans - parents
sons... daughters
rapidly moving transients :::constantly
transitioning on a roll...calling it a goal

the ole darkie stories
they unfold
getting retold & taking a toll, this
with each half step taken
scandal; pseudo slander...they’re in collusion
seems like confusion
where we once had hopeful promises; now
how it astonishes..
dubious ends which justify the means..
the incredible non-credible scenes
out of touch; out of context
with its strange ways living outside of reality
spaced out with all it’s inconsistencies
inaccuracies; material deities; father - less - mother - less
hampered by ::convoluted memories
suffering their loss; wherein what’s spent is much; too much
too much of our time ::lifetimes
given over to troubled love-hate relationships

unforgiving is the overreaching;
we under-react..
to the overreacting again & again
to the acts of self conflicted con-artists
a consequence of curious interest
but none providing any solid family solace

::so where’s the reliance?

are we the callous nihilists; engaged
undertaking staring roles in
not-so clever theme park trips
swiftly running
sprinting through & out the closest door
why & what are we running for?
the question asked... by
long necked kids with short attention spans.
the answers they demand
yet are held tightly; gripped by our enemies
all those ill demons
staring back from mirrors
while wondering what the fear is.
