I'm re-reading this book. I remember reading this book around 1999-2000...it helped me to get real strong for a situation I needed to let go.

I'm re-reading it now and my analogies are a little more detailed. I'm coming up with my own theories about things (and I'll post them soon as a I sort my thoughts)

I like this book because its one of the books I can relate to the most in modern times.

I like the issues she addresseses about being a young black girl raised in the ghetto by a single black mother, and then having been the only one slipping through the cracks of the ghetto system by going to college...later finding it hard to find love or a bond in the college educated brother who comes from money...or being resented by the down-to-earth brother from around her way.

I respect how she put all her stuff out there so people can see that even someone that appears to have it all together spiritually, intellectually still makes bad choices in love (and recovers from them too).

Anybody ever read it?
Any favorite chapters?

The way the book is written, makes you feel like you can easily write a book about your life. She took all the main people that influence her life and gave them a chapter of their own...I like that.
