I was reading in yesterday's Metro that there are big plans to make this city the next Hollywood as far as films / movies are concerned. About $75 - $200 million on the table for investment and a promise of thousands of job opportunities in related areas.
They (Pacifica Ventures) are looking to create three entertainment complexes. They are looking at Philadelphia, Bucks, and Delaware counties..
Rendell is pushing for Philly because "this area has unlimited capacity for different scenes...You can't get urban grime in Alburquerque"
The movies they showed that were filmed here:
Sixth Sense
The Village
Unbreakable
In Her Shoes
Rocky
and a few more...
Seems like a good time to be in the digital media business...also a good time to brush up on some acting for those interested
