when my kids take advantage of me being sick.

case in point - i was asleep/in bed most of saturday with a migraine. they didn't make a mess, but alyssa didn't start reading her book for her book report until today. the report is due tomorrow.

normally, they are pretty good.

Alyssa is so colorful - it seems like you never have a dull moment with her. She's the one that had that proverb right? Isn't her birthday coming?

RE: Cats....I think my cat is clairvoyant. (most likely all animals are)...but I can tell a lot about a situation based on his initial interaction / reaction to a person.

For example, if he never gets comfortable around a person, always on guard, and alert...its usually a clue that I should not get comfortable either. (I can always back track, and say, matter fact the cat didn't like XYZ either) lol --- Because sometimes he sees certain people and looks like he's about roll on them (and it can be so obvious that I will get embarrased)

If its a cool, fun person, the cat senses that he starts games with the people -- like messes with their shoes or jackets and then runs away real fast...Sometimes he touches people and runs...and other times he's very comforting to people...like if its someone thats really hurting inside / but outside they might be cheerful...he will do the sweetest things...stuff he doesn't even do to me!

Sometimes those people can be guardian angels...keeping you in Divine Order (so you don't arrive too soon, or too late). I remember hearing stories about people being held up during 9/11 by slow people in front of them and so on...so I look at those slow people a different way now. Pray for the slowpoke next time they are in slowing you down. Could be saving your life.

When you buy raffle tickets at work but never hear about the results.

**How do I know this is not your side line hustle? 3 consecutive years...the whole office has been buying these raffle tickets...none of us win, AND we never hear about the raffle results. You could be getting paper printed on your own and selling stuff saying its for my church, my daughter, my son...

When it costs to come to work (not including transportation costs) ....Costs like birthday parties, bridal showers, ticket raffles, candy sells, somebody's niece is running a marathon, --- I'm saying...they all hit me up hard for October. And one of those raffles was $10!

They were gangsta with it too..."here [hands me the raffle and walks away saying] just give it to me whenever, i already paid for them"

What the?!

Am I a scrooge or what? It is costing me too much money to come to work. This week, I will be getting a wedding gift, buying a $10 raffle ticket, and last week, contributed to a birthday.

This is too much on my wallet., I'm coming here to make money, not give it away.

Tell me the truth...Am I being a ba humbug scrooge?

*I'm bringing this up because I can hear this co-worker collecting for a raffle ticket right now. She is about 3 cubicles away. LOL

i don't think you are being a scrooge. i totally understand. i don't make much money and i have my own friends and family to worry about ya dig. i just don't contribute and i know people prob talk about me behind my back but i don't give a darn! you shoulda handed that raffle right back and told her next time you shouldn't buy them if you don't know how many tix you gonna sell. sheesh who these people think you are! i don't even carry cash at work so people know not to come to me with that crazy stuff.

no, you're not being wrong. it's hard to believe that people expect others to participate in so much. also, people may think you have it to contribute because you're single and always look fly.

swayyah has the right idea - don't contribute to anything.

Is it me or Sarah Palin just very goofy looking? I can picture her more of a person on The View...not even The View...they are more serious looking than she is...
